Even though a lot of his installations were made during the 70s Paul McCarthy’s work still seems really current. It’s too easier to watch his videos and be disgusted. I love how he shows fairytale and in particular disney as grotesque and ugly, for me he shows what it really is stereotypical and very, very vile.
We watched Punch and Judy as children and felt compelled to laugh without realising its representation of violence in relationships.
I like how he shocks audiences and pushes boundaries but some of his work is very Artaud e.g Class Fool.
